The team at Gymnastics NSW are here to support you and your club as we navigate the ever changing situation around the coronavirus COVID- 19.
We are committed to ensuring our clubs and wider community receive up to date information and will continue to be regular contact as new information arises.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has just made a public announcement that all non-essential gatherings of 100 people or more is enforced effective immediately.
Based on Government directive today Prime Minister Morrison stressed that the recommendation for non-essential mass gatherings of 100 people of more would not apply to attendance at work, childcare, schools, public transport, airports.
GNSW has consulted with NSW Office of Sport representative who has informed Sport Australia is talking directly with the Department of Health to get more definitive answers for Sport. We are awaiting further updates.

At this point in time Fitness Australia do not appear to be closing fitness centres.
In a rapidly evolving situation, we are taking advice from NSW Health and the Australian Health Department in regard to safe hygiene practises. We wish to acknowledge the efforts of all of our clubs that have taken extended hygiene measures to ensure the safety of their members.
Based on this current information available, GNSW is not recommending clubs to close however stress that all clubs closely assess the Inherent risks within their club and mitigate any further risks which should include all previous public health provisions, including but not limited too;
Self- isolation of all oversees travelers regardless of the country they have visited
Safe hygiene practices, handwashing, sanitizing
Regular disinfecting of equipment
Limiting the use of shared hand- held equipment (floor bars, blocks etc.).
Any person not feeling well to be excluded
GNSW is continuing to monitor and stay in close contact with relevant government and sport departments. We will keep you updated as news and updates come to hand.

With many industries acting to support small business, clubs experiencing financial distress are encouraged to contact their bank, the Australian Taxation Office and utility providers to negotiate longer payment terms.
Australian Government - Boosting Cash Flow Initiative
The Boosting Cash Flow for Employers measure will provide up to $25,000 back to business, with a minimum payment of $2,000 for eligible businesses. The payment will provide temporary cash flow support to small and medium businesses that employ staff.
450 million for the waiver of payroll tax for businesses with payrolls of up to $10 million for three months (the rest of 2019-20). This means these businesses will save a quarter of their annual payroll tax bill in 2019-20
$56 million to bring forward the next round of payroll tax cuts by raising the threshold limit to $1 million in 2020-21
$250 million to employ additional cleaners of public infrastructure such as transport assets, schools and other public buildings
More than $250 million to bring forward maintenance on public assets including social housing and crown land fencing
$500 million to bring forward capital works and maintenance

Gymnastics NSW Events Update

Following recent government announcements, and in consultation with Gymnastics Australia, we have made the decision to cancel or postpone our events and education courses between now and July 1, 2020.
This decision has not been made lightly, however has been made in the best interests of all of our members based upon government advice and feedback we have received from members. It is regrettable that this will impact upon our hard-working clubs, athletes and coaches. Your understanding during this difficult time is appreciated.
Events and Competitions
Clubs will receive a full refund for all entered athletes in the upcoming Senior State events.
In the event that we are unable to reschedule a date for postponed squads, members will receive a refund for the portion of the squad that was cancelled.

Effective March 17, 2020, all Regional education and competitions are postponed.
Gymnastics NSW will work with Regional Committees to arrange future events and education.
Coach and Judge Education
Effective March 17, 2020, all coach and judge education is cancelled.
The education team will be in contact with current enrolled participants to discuss their options.
